Job Description

Machine Operative
Our prestigious client in Oldham provides bespoke cardboard packaging solutions for companies of any size. Processes include the use of an onsite corrugator with a state-of-the-art Fanfold down-stacking facility. The packaging service is supported by an onsite conversion plant with case-making and die-cutting capabilities.
Easy to reach location via bus, Tram. Free Parking available 

Location:          Oldham
Shifts:              Rotating shifts 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00-22:00 
Days:                Monday to Friday days (short shift Friday)
                            Must be able to work both shifts 
Pay Rate:             £10.14p/h
Main duties include/min requirements: 

  • Operating a corrugating machine including setting after full training 
  • Feeding the machine with raw materials 
  • Basic machine maintenance and trouble shooting 
  • Quality control, checking all end products are finished to a high standard
  • Ensuring that production targets are met
  • Basic paperwork 
  • General production duties

Previous machine operating/setting experience is essential along with strong numeracy and literacy skills. A strong background in manufacturing and producing goods to a high standard. The ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet production targets. Some engineering knowledge would be helpful and the ability to solve basic machine issues. 
This is a temporary to permanent contract for the right candidate with flexibility to rotate each shift on a weekly basis.

Established in 1986, our customer is a manufacturer of household cleaning products, baby lotions, baby wipes and healthcare product across 2 sites which are both in easy reach of one another.

Job Location:                      Greenfield    
Standard Pay Rate:            £Neg
Working Hours:                 07:30-18:30                          
Days of Work:                     Monday to Thursday                                  

About the role

We are looking for a Stock Controller for our production site based in Greenfield Oldham. We are looking for someone from a manufacturing/production background.

Specific areas of responsibility -

  • Determine production plan requirements for in-house processes
  • Liaise with Factory managers to ensure optimum planning
  • Update Sage (business system) to ensure accurate stock figures at all time . 
  • Ensure BOMs are correct prior to updating Sage with production.  BOM = Bill of materials – is a list of all raw materials for the products
  • Support the BRC processes and matching of paperwork for traceability and goods in / out and approval for passing for payment/ invoicing. BRC = manufacturing to the supplier/ retailers processes to achieve retail standards
  • Complete the Certificate of analysis matching where required prior to or post goods being delivered. Certificate of Analysis (C of A) is to check the product meets the specification – is to do with Quality Assurance
  • Progress chase bespoke /made to order requirements through production and liaise with Customers on details as required.
  • Prepare necessary goods out paperwork and arranging transport with hauliers.
